As your Three Rivers Park Commissioner, I will bring my many years of practical experience, and proven, forward-thinking leadership to successfully connect people with the outdoors. Through responsible environmental and financial stewardship, we can and must sustain our quality parks, trails and natural areas for future generations.
Although federal and state environmental protection leadership has waned, Three Rivers remains committed to its mission of protecting all that makes Minnesota special. I have a formal education and practical training as a naturalist, and a proven professional track record that clearly demonstrates my commitment to that mission.
As an avid outdoorswoman, I am committed to connecting people with nature through outdoor recreation and learning. Affordable access to parks, trails and natural areas is even more important, as evidenced by the dramatic increase in usage of Three Rivers’ great facilities during the pandemic.
I applaud Three Rivers for its expansion of outreach efforts to better serve our residents by providing more opportunities to reach children and seniors where they live. As evident by my many activities over the years, I am committed to continuing this leadership to ensure equity for all those we serve.
With my financial management experience as a Trustee and experience in nonprofit organizations, I have a proven track record of responsible, transparent and inclusive budgeting to insure Three Rivers taxpayers and program users will continue to receive good value for the services they have come to expect.
I am committed to making sure the 13 million people who visit Three Rivers parks, trails and nature reserves every year are both welcome and safe. I support the partnerships that have been developed with local communities to avoid duplication and emphasize service, while insuring compliance with safe practices.
